FALL 2010 SCHEDULE

PRE-SCHOOL

GYM EXPLORERS (walking to age 3)
(1/2 hour) T: 9:15; S: 9
This parent/child class begins and ends with a group activity. In between, children explore different stations and activities with their parent, while coaches offer encouragement.

TODDLER TIME (ages 2 and up)
(1/2 hour) W: 9:15; TH: 9:15; S: 9:45
Children warm up together and then divide into small groups to work on basic gymnastics skills. Basic skills include forward rolls, cartwheels, walks on low beam, vault jumps, and a variety of bar hangs and swings.

MIGHTY MUNCHKINS (ages 3 and up)
(45 min) M: 9:15; T: 3:45; W: 10; TH: 10; S: 10:30
Mighty Munchkins is a continuation of gymnastics exercises and activities that build confidence, coordination and social awareness. New skills include backward rolls, levers on floor, walks on high beam, pull-overs on bars, and a squat-on vault.

BOYS BEGINNER (ages 3-5)
(45 min) T: 10; W: 9:30
The boys’ beginner class is geared specifically for boys. Here the boys will learn the basic skills on our boys’ events; floor, vault, pommel horse and parallel bars.

JUMPIN’ JACKS (ages 4-5)
(45 min) M: 10:15; T: 10; TH: 4
Jumpin’ Jacks builds on the activities offered in Mighty Munchkins, while incorporating new stations and skillbuilding activities into the lessons.

DYNAMITES (Invitation Only)
(1 hour) F: 4-5 pm
Dynamites is for 4, 5, and 6 year old girls who are ready for a little extra challenge. More attention is given to form and technique, as well as strength and flexibility development. Please speak to Missy if you are interested in this class.

RECREATIONAL

BOYS ADVANCED (ages 5 and up)
T: 4:45
The boys will continue to learn and master skills learned during Boys Beginner.

TUMBLING (ages 6 and up)
Beginner: M: 6
Advanced: TH: 6
This program focuses on floor work. Beginners will learn rolls and cartwheels before progressing to more advanced tumbling sequences. The advanced class will continue to perfect their skills, while learning more difficult techniques.

ROCKIN ROLLERS (ages 5 & 6)
M: 3:45; T: 4; TH: 4:30
Floor: Cartwheels, forward rolls, and backward rolls. Beam: Directional walks and proper mounts (low & high) Uneven Bars: Pull-over, casts, and back hip circles. Vault: Proper jumps and squat-ons.

SUPER SPRINGERS (ages 7-12)
SS1 (ages 7-9): M: 4:45; T: 5
SS2: (ages 10-12): TH: 5
Floor: Cartwheels, round-offs, and back bends.
Beam: Leg kicks, candlesticks, and scale holds (low & high)
Uneven Bars: Back hip circles, sole circles, dismounts.
Vault: Squat-ons and dive rolls onto a mat stack.

YTEAM (Membership Required)

YMCA GYMNASTICS TEAM
Level 1 - F: 5-6:30 - $22.50 monthly EFT
Level 2 - W, F: 4:15-5:45 - $45 monthly EFT
Level 3 - W, F: 4-6:30 - $85 monthly EFT
Level 4 - M, W, F: 3:45-6:45 (2 classes) - $102 monthly EFT
Level 5 - M, W, F: 3:45-6:45 - $102 monthly EFT
The Gymnastics Team is for serious athletes who are ready to put in several hours of effort each week. Gymnasts train and learn routines Women’s Apparatus: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor. Emphasis is placed on consistency and mental focus as students continue to have fun learning gymnastics and building lasting relationships.

RECREATIONAL TEAM
W OR F: 4-6:30 $36
This program is for gymnasts who have mastered the skills in required in advanced recreational gymnastics and would like to continue learning new skills in a non-competitive format.
